Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actress Sohai Ali Abro says “I don’t want to be an item girl”

LAHORE – Pakistani actress Sohai Ali Abro, who was recently seen performing on item numbers in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and Wrong Number, has said that she does not want to be an item girl.

In an interview with BBC, the actress however added that she will not make a final statement whether someone should do item numbers or not. “But I am not very fond of performing on item numbers,” she said.

She further said that if someone doesn’t like the dance or item songs, he must not watch it.

While commenting about the stance of her co-star Hamza Ali Abbasi, who said he doesn’t support the content of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, she said that everyone can have his own opinion, but yes others can also have their personal choices.

Sohai Ali Abro explain that the item numbers of Pakistani movies cannot be compared with those of Indian movies because in Pakistan item numbers “the item girl is not surrounded by few people enjoying her dance moves.”

In my recent songs the crowd that surrounded me was of my family and other relatives. These songs could be termed as part of celebrations ahead of marriage of a girl, she said.
